Priscilla and I send our condolences to the family. We met Howell at the occasional lecture or meeting etc, and we shared our English heritage. He was a wonderful chap. I only found out this year that he had died in 2017. God bless his soul.

So sorry to hear of Howell's passing. He was such a kind, caring, gentle soul. Engaged in his community and dedicated to his medical calling...and his animals. I recall fondly his foray into acting when he joined us in the Avion Players and played a role in our festival production of Agatha Christie's "Witness for the Prosecution" a number of years ago. He played, of course, a Doctor! Our sincere condolences to the family. Howell touched many lives along the way, professionally and personally, and has left many, many fond memories.

I had the honour and privilege of working with Howell Jones when he did clinics in the old cottage hospital in Norris Point in the late 1980's and early 1990's. As a physiotherapist, it was a unique opportunity to learn from such a skilled and compassionate physician. Our medical system today can seem superficial and uncaring at times; there is so much to be learned from following the examples of doctors like him. I still come across patients in my practice today who benefitted from his skill and wisdom. He also became a friend; we would have supper at the home of Dr. Delaney and Shirley Montague after the clinics; many warm memories of those times. And of visiting Howell and Marilyn when they lived in Gander. He had a wonderful sense of humour and a twinkle in his eye. He lived a full and rich life and contributed much to orthopedic medicine in this province. So much to celebrate. He will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. I recall my first few years here in Gander when then Dr. Jones (now Howell) would come to my clinic with a pile of neatly typed and packaged consults from his clinic in Twillingate. People he saw who needed procedures he could no longer do. "Keep the new guy busy" he would say. Aways gentle and kind He will be missed by me and all of the orthopaedic and medical community in Newfoundland and Labrador.

He was my orthopaedic surgeon for years.........I was just a little girl when he became my doctor. He was my doctor for many years to come!! He was very straight forward, but I loved him so much, because he was such a nice man!! He always had a Hi for you if you seen him in the hallways or out and about. So sorry to hear this news, and he will be a man that many will remember for years to come!! RIP Dr.Jones you will be a missed man!!
