Passed peacefully away in his home on October 22 2020 with his family by his side. Derek Simon Francis, was born on May 27, 1950 to Gordon and Emmie Francis. Derek married the love of his life, Barbra on Dec 18, 1976 and they lived and raised their family in Clarkes Head, Gander Bay. Derek had a passion for the outdoors and was lucky enough to be able to work as a guide on the Gander River for the majority of his life.
Derek was dearly loved and respected by all. His gentle, loving spirit will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew him. His bravery will never be forgotten.
Predeceased by his parents Gordon and Emmie Francis, brothers Barry and Carl, sister Verley Aubrey
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife Barbra (nee Wheaton), his daughter Vicki, his son Gregory (Rhonda), four grandchildren, Lily, Piper, Lincoln and Colton, brother Calvin (Ann), sisters Doreen and Josephine (Robert) along with a large circle of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Wings Point, Gander Bay on Oct 25th @ 2:00 pm.
