Obituary for Allan Garfield Yetman

Allan Garfield Yetman
June 12, 1935 – October 6, 2020

Passed peacefully away at James Paton Memorial Hospital with his family by his side on Tuesday, October 6, 2020, Allan Yetman age 85 years. Allan is now free from the burden of dementia and can freely play guitar; sing, walk freely and happily rest in peace.

Predeceased by parents William and Susannah Yetman; baby sister Joyce Yetman; sister Florence Szanyi; brother Edward Yetman; and sister Louise Boone.

Left to mourn with precious memories are his loving wife of 64 years, Marie Yetman of Gander; son Richard Yetman (Tina Butt) of Happy Adventure; daughters Donna Kelly (Don) of Gander; Christina Kieley (Perry) of Gander; Tonya Abbott (Dwayne) of Gander. Grandchildren Josh Kieley of Gander; Justin Kieley (Raya) of Gander and one Great-Granddaughter Nova Rose Kieley; Step-Grandson Matthew Abbott;
special sister Berdina Martin of B.C.; sister Paulette Waterman of Nova Scotia; and Yvonne Yetman of Nova Scotia as well as a large circle of family and friends.

As per Allan’s wishes cremation has taken place. Resting at Stacey’s Funeral Home, Gander on Friday, October 9th from 1:00 P.M. – 4:00 P.M. Due to Covid-19 restrictions we are asking for your patience at the time of visitation. A small family service will be held on Saturday, October 10th, 2020 from Stacey’s Funeral Home, Gander. Interment to follow at All Saints Cemetery.

Allan’s family would like to thank the many wonderful Doctors, Nurses, and support staff at James Paton Memorial Health Center in Gander, especially all those on Medical Unit C who cared for Allan while he was waiting Long Term Care placement. Your thoughtfulness and caring ways with our Dad made us feel very thankful and content. We cannot thank all of you enough. Thanks as well to the support staff from Compassionate Home Care Services and Greg Banfield who helped care for Dad prior to hospital placement. We appreciate all that was done for our father during this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the Alzheimer’s Society. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Stacey’s Funeral Home, Gander/ Carmanville.
